Since LIRR service to Penn Station will be reduced once ESA happens, I don't see that as much of an issue.

I don't have a proposed track map for after ESA, so I cannot verify whether or not ESA will be a savior. It's conceivable that the ESA tracks will diverge after the PW trains have to cross the mainline tracks.

Perhaps, someone who has this information will enlighten us.

There will be some Metro North service taking their place, but not as much as LIRR service is reduced.

I did not mention that the PW Branch tracks merge with those from the Hell Gate Bridge before crossing the two LIRR mainline tracks to get to Hunters Point. It's another complication.

LIRR trains can relay at either Bayside or Great Neck.

If LIRR trains relay at Bayside, how will the proposed service get to either Douglaston or Little Neck?

If they relay at Great Neck should the train carry passengers to/from Great Neck? What's NYC's motivation to subsidize fares to/from Great Neck?
