BTW, Amazon operations are highly automated and fault tolerant, and the loss of a single sever, or even multiple racks of servers, has close zero impact on them.Yup that was what I was trying to get at, the physical data center need not be staffed. I do not agree that 90% of the staff will work traditional US business hours. Google certainly doesn't, and they're arguably the best company to work for. Amazon has a reputation of being slave drivers, so while people will be there during regular US office hours, they will also expand quite beyond that, softening the rush hour blow. |
