Fluorescent with some sort of intentional use of germicide radiation. The germicidal "steri lamps" were located in the air handlers at the cars ends. The UV lamps supposedly would kill the germs when the air was recirculated through out the car. The effectiveness of the lamps was anybody's guess. Bill Newkirk
