Didn't the CNJ and/or Conrail also have a modified car for the Wall Street Express and/or the CrusaderReading Company bought 1-ea RDC2 & RDC3 from the Boston & Maine in the 1960s and rebuilt both with a snack bar in the former baggage sections for the conversion of the Philly-Newark service to self propelled, bi-directional train sets. Even though the service lost money RDG wanted to provide a little something extra for the riders on this route. The cars were staffed only for the Crusader & Wall Street trains and carried "Refreshment Car" labeling on the sides. The RDC3 survives in excursion service for Reading & Northern with a fully functional lunch counter section: ![]() ![]() |
