I thought they had to sell some Buffalo branches due to the concurrent presence of Key Bank and too much concentration.

Buffalonians understand the importance of commerce and travel to Canada over Ohioans. That also grand-fathered from the Marine Midland/HSBC era.

My local (NJ) county-based, privately-owned, savings bank has unlimited ATM transaction and surcharge reimbursements. I also know in the Cortland, NY area, some people have pulled their money out of Key Bank and and went to First National Bank of Dryden. Nicer to deal with locals.
