Wainrite's was a large single level store on Kissena Blvd and 71st Ave. It was one of the first "discount stores" with very little selling at list price, in an era when that was much less common. The store carried a very wide range of merchandise, set up in departments or areas. There warehouse was the full basement. Today, it is a National Wholesale liquidator's, and the basement is a selling floor with an elevator and escalator, they warehouse off site and get large truck deliveries,since they have multiple stores |
