Many times equipment not normally assigned to a line would show up there if that was what was available to make service. On the IND I can recall at least one train of R-1/9s used on the A if the Yd/mast at 207 Yd was short of R-10s. When I was in high school I recall seeing a train of Lo-Vs on the BWay IRT even after then lie was supposed to be 100% R-21/22s. On the BMT I would occasionally encounter a train of D types on the West End Exp during the time when the Ds were assigned to the Brighton Exp and Sea Beach Exp exclusively and towards the end of their service life, a train of Multis ran on the Bway Bkln Lcl even though at the time Multis were the main equipment of the Myrtle.Chambers Exp. |
