It's always someone else's fault, whether it's reckless conduct, unsupervised kids or a boy practicing scare the adults with a replica gun like Mom used to jack up local stores with.I read of a case where tween kids, old enough to know better, went through/over a high fence topped with barbed wire, past warning signs, then climbed on top of parked railcars in overhead wire territory. Then they went to reach for the wire. Going past one obstacle, sure kids will do that. Barbed wire? DANGER signs, then go check out high voltage? Did those parents even teach the kids the word No? Lawsuit followed, responsibility was thrown to the railroad (and in effect the public). Parents made bank. |
