My university was a great example of this - there was a local bus stop on campus, but only for one poorly-scheduled service; it was completely inadequate for many students' schedules.To fill the gaps, the university ran regular shuttles connecting the main campus to satellite locations, along with part-time shuttles into town and to local shopping centers. Between all of those options, I was able to get by without a car in the suburbs. |
