For a while I was under a dress shirt+tie requirement, so I bought a lot of them. Then several reorganizations happened and our group ended up mixed in with all the unionized folk (where such requirements are unenforceable). I still dressed well-ish simply because I liked the shirts/ties I had bought.But now, my current team has no one at all who was ever under the requirement, all the way up the chain of command. Out dressing the three levels of management above me makes me stick out too much, especially when "business casual" has degraded to t-shirt and shorts. |
