How about converting WMATA to air-assisted bikeways? You pops yer bike in the tunnel, and a tailwind pushes you along at roughly 30 mph. Exit ramps lead into the stations, with wind reduction on the ramps. You can pedal to go a bit faster, but there's a minimum speed so you don't create a bike pileup, at least not by design.Now when you get outta da station, you're already on wheels for yr last couple miles. |
