"Passenger service north of Dover Plains was discontinued by Penn Central in 1972."There's a story out there that the ICC granted Penn Central the OK to abandon passenger service north of Dover Plains at midday during a weekday. Immediately, service was cancelled & hundreds of commuters (and crew that brought the train in) who traveled from north of Dover Plains were stranded w/o any train home. |
