Re: [PHOTO] What Station Is this ?

Thanks for the link. I did find this site, with it's excellent platform and ROW photos a few months back.

The photos here (including the walled off stairway to the mezz.) are of the northbound platform.

I was asking if anything remained of the Soutnbound mezzanine, whose former platform had been removed during the re-alignment reconstruction - My first sentence did not make that completely clear:

re: "though the platform was destroyed during the realightment, wouldn't this small upper fare control area have remained in place - tiles and all?"

If just the SB platform was destroyed, might the SB mezzanine still be intact, and like I wondered, maybe there is ladder access to it, from the current ROW constructed during the realightment?

Also from my earlier post, I've been told that the original SB platform wall tiles are still in place (under layers of grime), with the colored tile bands, and the Myrtle Ave. name tablets - it would be great if sections of the former could be removed and installed in the mezzanine at Dekalb - much the same way the tiles and Eagles from the IRT Union Sq. abandoned local platform were removed and installed in the mezzanine there.

The LTV Squad site (http://ltvsquad.com/2005/09/03/transi-scope/) also went to the NB platform and stated that another visit was made in 2010 and to quote:

"the entire mezzanine was destroyed. It seems that a new building was built on top of this entrance, and a thick concrete wall was nstalled at the entrance from the platform."

the 2005 LTV visit does show photos of the NB mezzanine, with (unfortunately) graffittee covered tiling, and what looks like pictures of girders from the recent construction.

Also, a vent was built right in the middle of that "Enter This Side" sign in the original post's photo (unless there's another tiled sign like it up there as well)
