The pool is weak.Certainly not all, but most TD's. & TSS' take the job just to get off the road. In the case of the TD, they teach them how to do the paperwork and computer stuff. But if they are competent enoughnto straighten out a bad railroad and keep track of their crews? Sadly no in many cases. They get their Superintendents from this pool. Most don't want the aggravation, 24/7 on call, and can make more money staying getting paid by the hour. |
