I've never worked for any level of the MTA, operated a train of any kind or driven a bus of any kind. But from late 1996-early 1999, I rode the 1 every work day between 242 and Rector. Looking out the RFW, I developed a nearly complete understanding of all signal aspects, switch locations, and even tunnel features.I'd had a partial understanding for a number of years previously, but those rush hour trips at RFW were an experience. I stood at the RFW both ways, for the whole trip, every single day. |
