Streetcar service comes to an end in Sioux City, Iowa. There were only two lines and 12 cars running at the end.

Tuscarora Almanac - June 17, 1976 - The Book of First Runs

Long Island Railroad

The Gas-Turbine cars built by the General Electric Company and the Budd Company enter service today on the Long Island Railroad Oyster Bay Branch. They are similar in appearance to the M-1 electric MU cars and are numbered 4001 to 4004. (Four more cars were built by Garrett Airesearch and Pullman-Stardard (4005-4008) and entered service the following year.
