But is there any practical meaning to that distinction in nomenclature? Or is it a distinction without a difference?Anyway, doesn't the City of New York still technically own the subway infrastructure? If so, exactly what does that consist of? The tunnels and the ironwork of the els? The MTA (or NYCTA) purchases the cars, yes? And the rails and the signals? So what remains for the City to own? |
