Since I was raised and continue to live in NYC, My feeling is that in major metropolitan areas like LA should have 24/7 public transportationNonsequitur. Not even NYC had 24/7 mass transit (don't say "public transit"; that's a government term) originally. The original intent of the subways was to run mostly passenger during the daytime and freight at night. That would be the only way to insure that those participating in the night life of those cities don’t drive under the influence No shortage of drunk/stoned drivers in NYC at any time of day, including night. If one is drunk or stoned, one does not want to take the subway, bus or train and get robbed or beaten up or worse. |
