As far as T/D 1 and 2, they don’t have to be paid the same since T/D level 2 will be appointive at a higher rate like the console dispatchers in the RCC and line supts. I wouldn’t say OPTO is never going to happen especially if the powers that be in the MTA do their homework. When OPTO was first introduced, the MTA offers OPTO T/Os a premium which the TWU rejected, looking for more. The MTA along with the arbitrator surveyed other systems with OPTO an found they were paying even less for OPTO than the MTA’s offer so the union lost that one. |
