Wᴇ ᴀʟʀᴇᴀᴅʏ ʜᴀᴠᴇ the rights of way; only problem is that we have expressways sitting on themMaximum grade on a US interstate is 6 percent. Not conducive to having HSR alongside all of them. Never mind a lot of private rights of way in the Midwest being almost dead straight themselves. DC needs to get out of the way and allow private investment, and also to not be against gas turbine HSR (that would be better for high-speed intercity what with being more efficient at higher speeds in the 190-200 mph range). |
