The problem with Bedford-Nostrand is that Fulton St is very narrow at that point. If they had tried to build a conventional 4 track express station, all on one level, the island platforms between the local and express tracks would have been much too narrow, unless they had condemned private property on either or both sides of the street, which I think they did do at Utica Av. |
