One thing to note however. The Brooklyn franchise was still making more money than anybody else in baseball. How I hear you cry. The Dodgers had by far the most lucrative radio-tv contract in baseball; even more lucrative than the Yankees. The Dodgers televised all home games and 2/3 of their road games on channel 9 plus the pre and post and radio rights on 1050 plus the pre and post. Since the Yankees and Giants had to share channel 11, you can see why Dodger tv rights were much more valuable. j So the Milwaukee argument is simply not true. |
