I rode through that section of Horace Hardinng blvd. that I can remember, once, in maybe 1955 or '56, in the family car (green Studebaker) returning to Bell Park Manor Terrace (Hillside & Springfield) from my mother's cousin who lived somewhere in Flushing.
I remember it being very wide, and full of pot holes. Also, IIRC there was quite an incline in the road from just west of Fl. MeadOW Pk. into and through the section between the former fair grounds.
