Re: [PHOTOS] ***R-10's On The (F) 1980 ***

In 1984-86 my job required me to work two days per week in our downtown office. In the PM I'd take the 'M' or 'R' at Broad Street to 9th Street for the 'F' train. The R27s on the Nassau 'R' were the absolute bottom of the barrel. Covered in and out with graffiti they lumbered along, slowly. One night an R27 pulled into 9th Street and died right there. Passengers were ordered off but the train couldn't move. IIRC by early 1987 the R27s were all retired. One of the worst pieces of passenger equipment that the TA ever ordered.
