As I recall with some discussion among with a few ERA members, MTA NYCT spent $105,000 on just repainting those 24 R-27's. They looked better than even the paint job done on the R-30's, but alas, the R-27's were taken off the road just one month later. That was it for them, and during the Kiley/Gunn era, they wanted to get the entire fleet into the non-graffiti state by mid-1989.-William A. Padron ["#8145"} |
