Poor Lindenthal's 59th Street cross-Hudson rail bridge went nowhere thanks to no support from NYC plus the Coast Guard's 200-foot high-water-mark clearance requirement.

The Poughkeepsie bridge, once the main artery for trains between Washington DC and Boston, is now the "Walkway over the Hudson". Really twisted.
