Posted by W.B. on Tue Mar 6 13:36:35 2018, in response to Re: Tuscarora Almanac for March 6, posted by northshore on Tue Mar 6 11:59:43 2018. Route 8 apparently lasted for a short while after the 1954 one-way conversions of Eighth Avenue from Abingdon Square to Columbus Circle, and of Seventh Avenue south of Times Square; its NB route was shifted to Hudson Street and Eighth Avenue from Canal Street to 59th Street, before its being folded into the 10.But that 9 was discontinued in 1943 (though it did show up on a 1947 Hagstrom's map as well as a NYC Omnibus map from that same year, with a pic of bus 1773 shown - doubtless once-a-day at that point), explains its absence from the scene as of that 1954 change. |
