But, via the tax cuts, he's put more money in my pocket that I can use to travel to places with actual trains.That's the running gag that I've made with my railfan friend. So I'm not even the least bit hopeful for public transport in the US, and I'm almost tempted to do a Amtrak sleeper trip sooner rather than later, but I have an extra $20 twice a month to put into the trip fund. The sad part is that I'd much rather have a usable system here. $40 a month doesn't make up for the extra time my brother devotes to getting to work because NYCTA has turned to mush. His dicking around regarding tariffs has put stock prices at a discount, which I've been taking advantage of. In contrast, he's screwing me over by trashing my investments. |
