What’s interesting about the term “7th Ave-Lenox Local” is that AFAIK, the term only originated with the R-typw cars. On the Hi-Vs and Lo-Vs the signs for theBway services read “Bway-7th Ave Express” and Bway-7th Ave Local” and the lenox services simply read “7th Ave Express”or "7 Ave Local.” When the R types came on the property, the signs read “Broadway Exp” and Broadway Local” and "7th Ave Express” and “7th Ave-Lenox Local.” For whatever reason, the name “Lenox” was only included for the local readings but not for the express readings and the name “7th Ave” was removed completely from both Bway readings. |
