Highways are not as important here as they are in places like Atlanta. Yet their commuter get 90% of their capital road expenses paid by the federal government. So it's a regional discrimination, and why we are net donor states.If I have to subsidizer Perimeter Highway, they have to subsidize us. SAS and ESA are not of much use except to LIRR commuters and upper east side markets. Your logic says little federal money should go to that too. In fact, you seem opposed to UMTA/FTA doing any more than 20% for any transit projects. That has not been the way it has been since the 1960's. It started with CTA's Skokie Swift as a federal project |
