Probably would have made the R16's married pairs or 4 or 5car sets to cut weight due to air conditioning. They were heavier than the R27, which could not handle an AC unit.That's probably one factor why they ended up with a new 75 ft R-68 and not a rebuilt R-16. Bill Newkirk |
