I liked that scheme myself and was looking forward to seeing it on the rest of the SMEE fleet including the cars that eventually became the redbirds. Even the modified 2 tone turquoise and cream would have been nice. I remember one day when I was a trainmaster meeting David Gunn and asking him whey he had the R-10s painted green. He replied it was because it was their original color. I had the courage to remind him that it wasn’t their original color and that the original color was 2 tone grey with red-orange stripes. He merely responded that since it was the original color of the R-1/9s it was still appropriate. |
