Of course, it's quite possible there just isn't enough space between 8 Ave and 6 Ave to do what I propose. The fact that the southbound B/D come in on the "local" track at 47th-50th suggests space constraints (though those may relate to 50th being pretty close to 53rd rather than the distance between 8th and 6th). |
