Exactly. The more plausible explanation is that they needed these trains to run from Oyster Bay or wherever they ran from to LIC and it cost little to continue to stopping at the intermediate stops even if the benefit was minuscule.In 1998 they had no choice but to either abandon the intermediate stops or spend money to install high platforms. |
