Agreed. Those are grandly ridiculous. 72nd and 86th should've been built like 8th and Prince. Dig them 10 feet (give or take) below the surface, put in an ADA elevator on each side and you're done.

There is at least a plausible, though not absolutely convincing case for 96th to be a little more elaborate than 86th and 72nd- being at least a temporary terminal (and a good chance of being the permanent, or at least 50-year terminal), it would need crew quarters, equipment storage, etc.
