One of the lines in Montreal runs 6 car trains.One of the Toronto lines runs 4 car trains. Just because they run full length trains does not mean they do not break up such sets when 1 car needs attention. These full length train are seldom numerically matced. They even mix Siemens and Alston R160's on occasion, which I am sure they would rather not do.. Obviously in Toronto, they no longer have that luxury, but the Yonge-University subway has a uniform fleet. We do not and never will. ENY will soon be a mess of R143's, R160's, and R179's, then add in Canarsie-CBTC, Queens Blvd-CBTC, and No-CBTC trains, and they will have quite a challenge making up trains, running them where they belong, and you will see 4 car sets lying all over the place when they put consists together after maintetance. |
