Where did you get the idea that LIRR is in the market for more bi-levels ? I don't recall seeing that in the capital plan.Comparing the MLV and the C-3 for the passenger, the MLV cars suck. Stairs are stepper, narrow, and everyone converges at the single stream high level door. Ingess/egress times are horrible. That matters to LIRR. MNRR may not be aware. NJT doesn't give a shit. MARC and AMT have few high level platforms and don't encounter the issue. MN and LIRR are buying a shitload of MU's from Kawasaki, to be built in Nebraska. MTA's brief love affair with Bombardier has ended. |
