Have there been any recent long rail tunnels under mountains in the US?Most of the costs in recent US rail projects are from stations (including utility relocation) and not the actual tunneling. US rail construction costs are obscene (and NYC even worse), but the Gotthard Base Tunnel is not the best comparison to use. |
