Wouldn't it make sense to reconnect the tracks on the south side of the Bridge to Nassau (along with lengthening Chambers, Fulton and Broad to handle 600 foot trains) so in an emergency trains can run via Nassau back to Brooklyn?

Perhaps adding a connection via Chrystie from Nassau directly to the 6th Avenue Line (perhaps north of Canal Street if possible) is something that needs to be explored. That would open up also having 6th Avenue service run directly via Nassau and Montague.
