But, oh, those literal, meteorological winds! I spent the first 40 year of my life in Chicago. It was on Christmas Eve 1983, crossing what was then the IBM Plaza with the wind chill at a bracing 81 below zero (air temperature merely minus 26) that California started to sound real good.Alan Follett Hercules, CA (with still some Chicago connections) |
