Presumably the hypothetical Melrose to Pelham rider could accomplish the trip with a 125st to Pelham ticket.Maybe so, but not according to the published rules. A 125th Street to Pelham ticket is not indicated as being valid on the Melrose to Fordham leg of the trip. If it works, it's only because you get a sympathetic first conductor, or none at all because they haven't asked for your ticket by the time you get off at Fordham. And you absolutely definitely can't travel from Botanical Garden to Pelham on one ticket unless you get a sympathetic conductor or none at all for the first leg. |
