I'll venture a guess that one big reason it stopped running is because too many Woodside & Junction Blvd passengers mistakenly boarded & would up at Willets Point. The equiptment used on the 7 at the time did not have PA systems.
The super express service was revived during the 64-65 Worlds Fair. When the Fair ended, so the the service & hasn't run since
