The reports I’v heard indicate that it was done in the 1950s. As for running them on the GG in 1966 while it was proposed, the TA opted instead to transfer some R-16s to the GG and reactivate some of the scrap bound steels for use on the BMT Eastern since at that time the plans were going forward to merge the BMT and IND and the IND crews were being qualified on the R-16s. |
