I haven’t seen any regular wax candles in a church for years except possibly for St John’s Capuchin Church around 31 St off 7 Av in Manhattan. I remember back when I first started college in 1962, one of my classmates told me that the pastor in her church had just installed electric candles. They would stay lit for 1 hour for a dime and 3 hours for a quarter. Now most churches seem to have them except for the one I mentioned and since I haven'tbeen there in years even that church might have gone modern. |
