A few grains worth saving from all of the dross. We DO need more coverage and critcally, better connectivity.

As to through-routing, yes the longer the route the greater the potential for cascading delays. That said, through stations are de facto more efficient than terminals. Compare the throughput potential of City Hall on the 6 to that of 8th Ave on the L. Balancing the two branches is always a challenge--CTA switched the Dan Ryan to being the south end of what is now the Red Line because ridership more closely mirrored ridership north of the Loop to Howard.
