When they wanted to abandon the Franklin Shuttle, the locals screamed like hell & the shuttle was saved. The locals there were primarily non-white. As far as the Myrtle Ave Els demise, there was too much outside political factors that went above & beyond what anyone in the area who wanted to save the el. To say that the Myrtle Ave el was ripped down a/c the area it served was primarily black is just an example of Al Sharpton like race baiting hysteria. Besides being well, nonsense. |
