The Fulton Street el could never have been modified to have the bi-directional capacity of the current Fulton Street subway.The Jamaica el was never so converted because it never needed the capacity of a 4 track IND subway with 10 car trains. There is only a one hour interval in each direction of 5 minute intervals. Maybe someday that will be 90 minutes. If ever they extend any subway line to Queens Village, it would be the Hillside subway. |
