The tunnel was holed through by 1974.
The Central Park tunnel were built by 1976...
All stations were finished by 1984.

The entire line was completed by 1985,but suffered from severe water damage from flooding. At anytime, there would be at least 6ft of water in the tunnel at its deepest point under the river.
Near 1st are, an engineering error on a massive scale cause the tunnel calling to be too low for trains to safely pass...
Lexington are had to be reconfigured due to the lack of the SAS being built.
The MTA had considered scraping the entire project at one point, but was forced to repair the defects and open the line by the Feds.
The problem was they really were victims of poor planning, misplaced funds, and cost overruns.
20 years had pass before the first train ran through from start to what was finished.
