But the "unique" thing in the pic here is the EL was there about 10-15 years before the apartment house was built. I'v never seen or heard about a multiple dwelling housing unit built so close to an existing El. I've walked along there many times (back & forth to the old Sunnyside Movie house) & they have terraces facing the side of the platform. I guess folks threshold of annoyance was different back then. |
