I remember this pair well as they retained the blue interior for many years while the others had long been painted the tan w/orange doors. They spent many of their years assigned to Concourse.

Assigned to the (D). That's when I was surprised when it pulled into Atlantic Ave station, seeing a two tone interior. Then, I rode it to Brighton Beach where I took those pictures. That pair was basically a new R-42 that was kept out in Colorado longer than needed.

Steve Zabel told me of the story behind this. He stated that UMTA called the TA and asked them if they want this pair back. Steve told me the car numbers #4764-65 was on the roster, but no one knew where they were. :-)
